Companion Chronicles: Lucas: 15 - PEAK Achievement and Cosmetics Guide

The last few weeks I've been getting into a game on Steam called PEAK. It's just a little climbing game where you play with friends. You comm through local chat, similar to Lethal Company, which is fun!

Well, I've gotten into achievement hunting in PEAK and noticed that the guides online kinda suck. I just want a place to look at what achievements correspond to which in-game items--especially the ones I have already unlocked. While I'm at it, I'll explain how I did each of the achievements as well 🙂

I'll go through the achievements in order from most commonly completed to least:

Beachcomber Badge

Climb past the SHORE. 92.4% Completed

This achievement speaks for itself; climb past the first area, the SHORE.

Straw Hat

Esoterica Badge

Obtain a mystical item. 77.0% Completed

Mystical items can either be obtained from grey chests with chains and a heart symbol on them, or by having your entire team alive and interacting with the Scout statue at the end of each area.

Wizard Hat

Trailblazer Badge

Climb past the TROPICS. 73.8% Completed

Complete the second area, the TROPICS.

Explorer's Cap -- Changed with MESA update

Happy Camper Badge

Receive 5 Morale Boosts from campfires. 62.3% Completed

You get a morale boost by standing close to the campfire when it is lit.

Scout Cookies Uniform

Alpinist Badge

Climb past the ALPINE. 56.3% Completed

Complete the third area, the ALPINE.

Aviator's Hat

Volcanology Badge

Climb past the CALDERA. 52.4% Completed

Climb past the fourth area, the CALDERA.

Vacation Outfit

First Aid Badge

Heal your friends for 100 points of injury in a single expedition. 48.7% Completed

Everyone has 100 total points of stamina, so if your buddy takes a big spill, a single first aid kit should complete this achievement for you.

Medic Helmet

High Altitude Badge

Climb 5000m total. 48.4% Completed

Progress for this achievement tracks through different runs, so it'll just come through time.

Plunderer Badge

Open 15 luggages in a single expedition. 37.4% Completed

Looters loot.

Eye Patch

Arborist Badge

Reach the top of a really big tree. 35.7% Completed

Really big trees spawn in most TROPICS areas.

Emergency Preparedness Badge

Heal an unconscious friend with an item to save them from death. 33.8% Completed

Healing a friend who took a wicked spill with bandages or a first aid kit will complete this achievement. Feeding them food to take them out of their nap may also work!

Reach the PEAK. 33.0% Completed

Complete the game by reaching the PEAK!

Cooking Badge

Cook 20 meals at campfires. 31.6% Completed

All foraged foods that I know of can be cooked. Mushrooms, berries, it should all work.

Eat 5 different berries in a single expedition. 30.9% Completed

The different type of berry is what matters here, not necessarily the colors. You should be able to find enough different berries between coconuts and berries from the SHORE, and all the different berries in the TROPICS. Different mushrooms count also!

Participation Badge

Have a friend escape the island without you. 26.9% Completed

Easy enough to finish. This is one of the 7 achievements I haven't unlocked yet.

Castaway Outfit

Endurance Badge

Climb 50m upwards in a single expedition. 23.3% Completed

You can use Pitons, energy drinks, lollipops, vines, and chain launchers to help complete this achievement. What matters is you climb 50m vertically in one go. Here's a picture of my setup the first time I tried this achievement. I went from the vine to the first Piton, climbed to the second Piton near the top of the picture, and then was able to get the achievement from the second Piton.

Just play a game with Erik and his friends! 4Head (Resurrecting isn't the same as reviving. Reviving is done by healing somebody who is unconscious, resurrecting is done at the Scout Statue)

Play the bugle for a capybara. 16.4% Completed

Bring a bugle from the crash site to the third area. Both the MESA and ALPINE have Capybaras spawn. Their spawn is the same each run you do on the same map day.

Mentorship Badge

Have a 1-on-1 with the Scoutmaster. 16.1% Completed

The Scoutmaster will spawn if you leave your friends behind. I had Quentin stay at the bottom of the SHORE while I climbed all the way up and the Scoutmaster spawned and jumped me.

Help Bing Bong escape the island. 15.8% Completed

Bring Bing Bong to the PEAK. Praise be to Bing Bong.

Propeller Hat

Toxicology Badge

Restore 200 total poison by using items. 13.9% Completed

Poison goes away on its own, so restoring it is kind-of useless after this quest is done. Use an Antidote, First-aid Kit, Cure All, Faerie Lantern, or other stuff that restores status effects.

Place 10 pitons. 9.6% Completed

This achievement progress is maintained between runs, so go place some pitons!

Anime Eyes

Lone Wolf Badge

Escape the island in a solo expedition. 8.1% Completed

Easy enough. Probably best done alongside the Speed Climber or Leave No Trace badge.

Speed Climber Badge

Escape the island in under an hour. 7.0% Completed

On my second attempt to finish this quest, I completed the island in 36:07 (fell to my death the first time). Use lollipops, all of the movement you find, never carry ropes, don't carry much food, and don't think too long about the routes you are taking. If you are having serious trouble, finishing the day's map in a slower run while noting where you should go the next time makes sense.

Escape the island without eating any packaged food. 5.6% Completed

Heat packs count. Ask Qunt and E-man. Just cook and eat and store Marshmallows while munching on berries the whole run. Should be easy if you're a part of a big group and can steal their Marshmallows.

Eat four different non-toxic mushrooms in a single expedition. 5.0% Completed

There are only four different mushroom types, and they're found in the SHORE, TROPICS, and (maybe?) MESA. Don't leave those zones until you find each of the shrooms.

Escape the island without taking fall damage. 4.6% Completed

Gourmand Badge

Escape the island after cooking and eating a coconut half, a honeycomb, a yellow winterberry, and an egg. 4.6% Completed

Coconuts are found in the SHORE and TROPICS, honeycombs in the TROPICS, yellow winterberries spawn on-top of the Capybarras in the MESA or ALPINE, and eggs spawn in the CALDERA (hint: throw them at the ground to crack em.)

Escape the island without placing anything on the mountain. 4.3% Completed

I haven't attempted this achievement yet. My plan would be to play solo and use a bunch of lollipops, magic seeds, energy drinks, and platform fungi.

Read all of Scoutmaster Myres's journal entries. 3.5% Completed

The journal entries spawn on the top of an area sometimes. Pick them up and read them to get the next entry.

Broken Glasses

Knot Tying Badge

Place 100m of rope in a single expedition. 2.9% Completed

One spool of rope is 12.5m, one rope harpoon is 5m. You'll need about 8 rope spools... good luck.

Ribbon Bow

Resourcefulness Badge

Give in to your hunger. 0.2% Completed

Jump into a game with your homie and wait until you get to ~80% hunger... I don't have the unlock because Qunt bailed on achievement hunting tonight.

Daredevil Badge

Shoot across the MESA canyon in a Scout Cannon. 0.0% Completed

This and the rest of the achievements just came out on Monday, 8/11. If you set up a Scout Cannon overlooking the Canyon before the MESA climb, like the first photo, you'll fly. With some luck and skill you may actually get across the Canyon! Took me two tries.

Antlion holes have some (fake) loot and then turn in a Sarlac pit or that one sand slide from Dry Dry Desert in Mario Kart. Make sure to take damage from the Antlion for this to count.

It took 5 cacti to unlock this achievement. Author's note: this kills the player. If you have are quick enough, you can take off a cactus and throw it away before going unconscious. If you have a friend, they can save you!

I haven't unlocked this achievement yet and haven't figured out how. My hunch is to use a bunch of balloons, but 3 is Not enough.

Climb past the MESA without ever having more than 10% heat. 0.0% Completed

I did a run with Quentin where I really thought I never went above 10%. Alas, I did not get this achievement. To stay under a number so low, you probably just have to hide every time the sun is out. Pack food.

24 Karat Badge

Offer The Kiln a worthy sacrifice. 0.0% Completed

Not sure what a worthy sacrifice is yet. When I was in the MESA taking pictures for the blog I clipped through a weirdly generated wall and saw this tunnel. Maybe some treasure is down there. We'll see.
